VAE

What is a VAE ?

Recognised by the Labour Code, the “validation des acquis de l’expérience” (validation of acquired experience - VAE) enables students to obtain a diploma, title or professional qualification through the recognition of their experience.

Diplomas, titles and professional certificates are therefore accessible through one’s experience and not only through initial or ongoing theoretical training.

The validation of acquired experience is a right that is accessible by all, employees (permanent, short-term, temps), unemployed, job seekers, volunteers or public officials, regardless of their previous qualifications.

There is only one condition: to have proven experience in paid or voluntary employment for at least 3 years, related to the contents of the course of interest.

For which title, what degree ?

The VAE can be applied to all the diplomas, professional training courses and certifications. The accountability of expenses related to the VAE is subject to the fact that the certification is registered under the National Directory of Professional Qualifications.

Under these conditions, the Écoles de Condé offer candidates who are interested in the VAE to engage in a simplified procedure that will facilitate their access to the certified Level II title of "Restorer of Cultural Heritage".

What is the procedure ?

The VAE takes place in various ways:

  • Evaluation of the validity of the request.
  • Support to help the candidate constitute his/her VAE application (optional).
  • Establishment of a folder by the candidate in which the candidate records his/her experience in detail.
  • Meeting of a jury, candidate interview.

The jury will check if the candidate has the competencies, skills and knowledge necessary to obtain the diploma, title or certificate of interest and will then confirm:

  • Complete validation of the desired degree if all the conditions have been met. The jury will then proceed to the presentation of the certification.
  • Partial validation of the desired degree. The jury will specify the skills and competencies that need reviewing.
  • Denial of validation if the necessary conditions have not been met.

The jury is composed of qualified representatives of the relevant field, with a view to ensuring a balance between male and female judges.
